Internal Communications Specialist II - 3DIRS
**Basic Function**

Responsible for consulting with assigned business units, committees, and geographies, making strategic recommendations for the development of internal communications activities, then executing on those recommendations that are approved.

**Essential Position Responsibilities**

Work with internal partners to develop strategic recommendations for internal communications plans for bank-related products, service, activities, personnel, issues, etc., then implement and evaluate bank-wide and targeted internal communications.

Contribute regularly to content for the Bank's internal online publications - most significantly Current News and the Online Observer. This includes recommending publication content that is consistent with the Bank's key communications strategies and communications best practices.

Make strategic communications channel and Intranet content recommendations based on analysis of site traffic, e-mail response rates, etc.

Advocate on behalf of employees by providing employees information that they need in the appropriate format and with the appropriate timing so that they can help the Bank achieve its mission every day.

Oversee responses to employee inquiries on a variety of topics and report on trends that impact communications strategies and tactics.

Maintain awareness of communications best practices and how they can be implemented at M&T Bank.

**Nature and Scope**

Will serve as a strategic partner for business lines and geographies to assist them in meeting their business objectives - work will impact targeted employee populations as well as the bank as a whole.

**Managerial/Supervisory Responsibility**

Marketing Assistant, department interns and other resources on a per project basis.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience.

A minimum of 7 years experience in communications.

Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Strong project management skills.

Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to think quickly, act professionally, and present ideas effectively and earn buy-in with all levels of management.

Word, design software, photo software, excel, groupwise, access, web publishing.

Knowledge of the bank, its departments, regions and policies.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.

Excellent project/time management skills.

Detailed knowledge of print and electronic publication preparation and production, as well as intranet skills.

Ability to present ideas effectively and earn buy-in from management.

Ability to effectively multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously with high-quality results

Understanding of communications best practices and how they are implemented

**Ideal Qualifications**

Master's degree preferred
